Additionally, Elana checked on us in person every day. She is a great communicator and did so via WhatsApp on a daily basis, asking a few times a day if there was anything we needed or if she could help with anything whatsoever. Elana, our local host, was in great part the reason we had such an amazing week. The spa was lovely as well and we thoroughly enjoyed being pampered with massages. We requested the maid's turn down service to be after 7 pm so as not to be disturbed while getting ready for dinner and they provided excellent service the entire week. Our gorgeous ocean front room was huge with a large deck that had a tub and couch.
We found the food in all of the restaurants to be excellent and the breakfast buffet offered countless choices, along with an omelet station. The service the entire week was wonderful and we never wanted for anything. The resort grounds are impeccable and the lobby building which holds the spa and all but one of the restaurants is beautiful and tastefully decorated. My husband and I stayed at Unico 2087 for the first time in April, along with 4 other couples.
That is a huge deal and much appreciated! We will always request Javier and Rodrigo each time we return to Unico in the Riviera Maya. They met us each night at the restaurants to ensure that the staff knew of my dietary expectations and that our table was ready. I have Celiac Disease and I wasn't worried about eating something I couldn't have because they made sure that each restaurant knew about it. From meeting our girls before their day trip to Tulum, and the family before scuba diving, they made sure that all of the details were covered. They truly cared about us and making sure that we were happy and had everything we needed. What made our stay so memorable was the personal service and attention to detail that were given to us by our butlers Javier and Rodrigo. Every employee that we came into contact with was very professional.
My husband and I had an amazing time at Unico! The beautiful grounds and accommodations exceeded our expectations. You will be delighted at your choice! We will certainly be back!… I highly recommend staying at Unico 20 87. The chocolate making class was unique, interesting, hands on and extremely tasty! Yummy. Poolside dining was most excellent with salads, chicken strips, burgers, pizza from a wood fired oven, guacamole, ceviche and so many other wonderful tasty treats! Luna Leticia always kept our room neat tidy and smelling oh so beautifully tropical with the available aromatherapy choices. Great food was available whenever we wanted something to eat. Guadalupe & other caring staff kept the drinks flowing at our poolside loungers & cabana. Everyone was happy when Alejandro was on duty! Fernando our poolside bartender makes the best tasting drinks and he introduced us to 400 Rabbits Mezcal. Mario was the most attentive and interesting waiter that we have ever had! Lauren, Juan & Javier - thank you for helping us make the most out of our two week vacation! You guys really hit home run after home run! Outstanding! Diamanté and Angel at Mi Carisa, a most excellent Italian restaurant - we loved the special attention to DonnaLee’s birthday celebration! The Mariachi/waiters birthday song in Spanish was memorable! We will never forget your hospitality! Alejandro was the best poolside captain we most certainly will ever have. The staff was exemplary in every way! Special mention going out to Mario in Mura House the Japanese restaurant. It’s easy to say that we had a very comfortable, relaxing, exhilarating and pampered two weeks at Unico 20 87. The pool and outdoor areas are inviting, fun filled or quiet and extremely relaxing with excellent pool food and bottomless drinks expertly prepared. Our room was large and extremely well appointed and very quiet. The restaurants are diverse with large menues to choose from. The facilities are relatively new and in spectacular shape.
